This Tuesday the house republicans rejected a bill which would have recognized that human influence is the cause of climate change. Part of this is a refusal to actually accept the responsibilities that such an acknowledgment would entail, but the other, more dangerous aspect, is the outright refusal to take action in the face of unrelenting evidence.
For those of you not of the scientific persuasion climate change is absolute, we know without a shadow of a doubt that the planet earth is getting steadily warmer than it has been. The debate is if it is anthropogenic, that is to say caused by humans, despite the fact that every scientific body of national and international standing has concluded that humans are in fact causing global warming. Voting against this scientific consensus would be equivalent to congress refusing to authorize vaccinations after the AMA,WHO and every other medical body requested them. If one of the 31 Republican members of the committee is from your state please write them and tell them that you do support climate change legislation.
